WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE -

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT -

Our teachers and support staff are excellent--they should get all possible resources available to bring our students to their full potential.  New assessments and state mandated programs add new challenges to our district, and so far we have met the technology requirements and many of the goals set forth by the state.  We should strive to continue the good work in the classroom and keep the high level of learning our students enjoy.

BUDGET -

The goal of the budget is to provide the financial resources available to the district to provide for the educational opportunities for our students.  While the budget consists of salaries, benefits, debt service, utilities, facilities, materials and other expenses, a balance of these must be made within the confines of our revenue to maintain an efficient and productive district.  Keeping the tax rate as low as possible is a key, as well as getting the most achievement from every dollar spent.  Reduced contributions from the state will add an additional challenge to maintaining and expanding the learning experiences available to our students.

FACILITIES -

The facility improvements funded by the 2017 referendum are nearing completion.  In the past two years, many improvements such as air conditioning, new windows, improved facilities at Jost Field, renewed parking lots, the high school Stem Lab and many others have been completed and added a level of pride to our district.  There are still a few more projects to finish, as well as regular maintenance and upgrades funded by the annual budget.  All these projects have been managed well by the board and administration.

IMPACT OF NEW HOUSING -

As the new housing communities are developed in our borough, the impact these new residents will have on our schools needs to be monitored.  This includes the large, high density developments as well as new single home construction through the borough, along with home resales.  Our school district needs to develop a plan to adjust to the increased student population without any adverse affect on the current functioning of our schools.
